I don't think "the situation is dire" is applicable to that, and I don't think Bishie would be accepting of that, and it seems that he's accepted whatever it is that happened.

A gay in the family in OKLAHOMA!?!  A dire situation indeed.  If I were Bushie's gay relative I'd be fearing for my life.

Bushie is for gay marriage, Inks.  I think he'd be perfectly accepting of a gay.  When it comes to social politics, Bushie is the Rosie O'Donnell of Oklahoma (which isn't saying much, but still).

Yup.  Bushie is (quite obviously) a major attention whore.  If he could get sympathy for a sick or dying relative he'd be all over it.  This is something that is a source of embarrassment for the Bushie clan.

This pattern of mindlessly taking cues from others applies to most of the Forum as well. I remember back when I was in the minority here, supporting marriage equality in the face of "The Dems have to nominate a Southern Blue Dog for President if they ever want to win". Quite a few forum moderate heroes would go as far as Civil Unions, but that was it.

I'm still assuming it's a health problem, but you're all right that he hasn't shyed away from talking about health problems before. It would be funny if it is the gay cousin because he's skipping work to deal with it and coming home next weekend. Surely he's not reacting this way because of that.

Most of us wouldn't.  Well, in Oklahoma there is a lot of work involved.  You have to establish "safe zones", alternative routes to work, schedule "pray away" sessions with the family minister, etc.

I'm not going to confirm or deny anything right now.  I'm waiting for the right moment to release the information.  Until then, I'm carrying on with life like normal.  I'm getting ready for Week 8 at work.  I have a feeling it will be a good week!
