This is another one of those deals where they spend all day Friday driving, have one day in ABQ on Saturday, but can't really enjoy it because they get up at 4 in the morning on Sunday to go back?

That's how we do things.  I guarantee you, though, we will enjoy Friday dinner and whatever we do on Saturday.

Enjoyable Friday dinner? RIP Bushie Family.

But seriously, where are you guys eating? Please don't say a chain restaurant.

Dude, why are you tagging along on Papa and Mama's romantic weekend getaway?   You're not 10.

Maybe because I was invited?

Or the hissy fit about KC last week prompted the invitation.  It's just weird.

I wasn't crying about that, everything was just piling on that I got emotional.  Seriously, if you're implying that's childish, then perhaps YOU are the child.

Friday night, I'm not sure.  Saturday night, probably the Blue Corn Café in Santa Fe.

It might as well be a chain.  Their menu and Chili's might looks awfully close.

I haven't eaten there in 10 years and Mom and Dad have never eaten there, so it will be a neat experience.

Blue Corn Cafe is great. They brew their own beers. Too bad you guys don't drink.

I prefer Rio Chama Steakhouse, which is a more upscale version with the same ownership, but I wouldn't want to do that to Papa and Mama's bank account.

Why not meet up with Bushie and Papa and Mama?

I'll be in Albuquerque tonight and tomorrow. Jeff, if I scope out a good restaurant, will you consider my recommendation?

I wouldn't want to ruin Mama and Papa's weekend getaway by making it even more about Bushie.

Unless J-Mann wants to stage an intervention...

I won't be sticking around for the weekend. I'm just going down to pick up a few model trains and driving right back.

I bet Jesse's train room is way bigger than Papa's.

I don't doubt it, Grumps.  Dad's train room is only 9 months old and still developing.  I'm sure Jesse has had much more time to develop his room.

J-Mann, if you find a restaurant, we will definitely consider it.  We won't guarantee that we'll go there, but I will bring it up as one of the options when we decide what to eat that evening.

Sadly, I have no actual train room. When I was a kid, I would have loved it and was very into model trains, though I never had any high-quality ones.

I'm actually feeling pretty rough today, so I may not go out at all after I land in ABQ, but if I find a good restaurant, I'll pass along the info.

Dad is focused on the N-scale models.  That's what he's built his room out of.  I don't know what your model scale interest is, but if you have a favorite, I'd be interested to know.

Don't push yourself to find a restaurant, but if you do, fine, if not, no sweat.  We'll find something to eat either way.

I'm home from the interview.  I did find out that I was turned down for the job in OKC, not due to lack of skill, but due to abundance of applications.  The interview here in Tulsa went very well.  It was only a 10-15 minute meeting with the HR Manager, but I should have further word on that job by the end of the week.  This confirms that I will need to keep my phone on while we're driving to ABQ this Friday.  I am going to stay in my interview clothes for a while longer just in case something unexpected pops up the remainder of the afternoon.  I am going to leave here at 1800 for the fellowship.  When I get back tonight, I am going to do Week 11 of the Real-Life Discipleship Training that we will cover tomorrow night at church.  There is a potential that I may have another interview tomorrow or Thursday for a 4-month temporary position in Tulsa that would take me through February.

Dude leave your phone on 24-7 and adjust the settings for sound only.  Ugh

Umm what??  Is there a reason you wouldn't keep your phone on??

This is a Jeff tradition ... he's like a 75-year-old, or a bag-phone owner from 1995 -- he completely turns his phone off at night and on occasions like drives to other states.

But half volume from 1400-1630 and vibrate/ring at full volume from 1800-2000 unless it is raining outside.
