As noted in the article, this has been one of the biggest accomplishments during the Obama Administration. At this point, if anything, I don't like the fact that he's current left seven Circuit Court seats vacant without nominations. Preferably, I'd like to see President Obama nominate judges for every current vacant seat, considering what is at stake in terms of control of the Senate. There's no reason as to why President Obama should not do so and have the Senate confirm them all by the end of the year. If Republicans take the Senate, I think Obama will be lucky to get any judicial nominations confirmed.

Hopefully he can finish the job and send the cantankerous dystopians to the bone yard.

Unfortunately the Supreme Court is still to the Right of where it was a decade ago, and that's not looking likely to change for the remainder of Obama's term.

Good news, but it would be nice if we could also move SCOTUS to the left (or even the center).

God yes, I'm still angry over the Citizens United ruling.

This comes to a grinding halt if the GOP wins the Senate.

Such would require the death of retirement of one of the 'conservative' Justices.

I know.  It's unfortunate that Ginsburg is the oldest current justice.

It's entirely likely that the next President, if a two-termer, will oversee the retirement/death of Ginsburg, Scalia, Kennedy and Breyer. If that President is a Democrat, what are the chances that Republicans just straight up don't let them confirm a replacement at least for Scalia and Kennedy?

If the Democrats control the Senate then this will just spur them to abolish the filibuster for Supreme Court nominees.

And if they don't control the Senate? There's not really precedent for a Senate controlled by one party stopping all of a President's nominees for an open SCOTUS seat, is there?

The Dems knew that the filibuster was gonna be put to rest anyway if a GOPer was in charge. That in itself is a milestone. And I hope it helps Hilary should she serve twice and replace Scalia and Ginnsburg.
