The Simspons has 25 seasons, of which 10 were good and then had two that were kind of split, so that equals about 11 good seasons (actually the decline had already begun around season 9, but we'll count it as good here). That's 44% good episodes roughly. Family Guy has over 90% good episodes. Family Guy wins by a lot.

I voted Family Guy since I know it's going to lose.

The Simpsons has had more good episodes, but that doesn't mean the entire series of Family Guy is a ripoff of the former.

As I say about every fourth time BRTD brings it up (which means I've done it about 14 times), FG is a fine show.  It's not great, but fine.  Good jokes....not much else.  But to compare it to the top mainstream adult cartoons is just silly.  It's not in the same league as KotH, Simpsons, Bob's Burgers or South Park.

Sadly, the Simpsons's % shrinks with each new episode, but, fortunately, it can never reach 0%

Simpsons is an icon of the 20th and 21st Century, no show has reached it's peak and no show ever will. Comparing FG to the Simpsons is ridiculous.

Icon of the 20th century you mean. Because in the 21st century it's CRAP.

The Simpsons had 44% of its total output considered not just good, but near free of flaw. Family Guy literally has only a handful of episodes out of its what, dozen? seasons that warrant anything more than a chuckle every 10 minutes.

South Park has a far higher percentage than either show, but of the two, definitely The Simpsons.

Sorry conventional "wisdom", but a decade+ of useless Simpsons episodes has put Family Guy in the lead here.

OK this is pretty ridiculous, especially with the last line. Now I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you only mean 20th century Simpsons with that bit, but you mention South Park. That mention is a disgrace and insult not only to Family Guy, but the other shows mentioned. That show is f[inks]ing garbage. It's not merely mediocre, or simply inferior to Family Guy, it's completely worthless nonsensical trash. The idea that it's on the level of Bob's Burgers (which I'm not even a huge fan of), King of the Hill or classic Simpsons (!!!) is absurd beyond belief. Hell I'd say that even comparing South Park to Dora the Explorer would be an insult to the latter.

He thinks that Matt Stone and Trey Parker are a couple of hard-right libertarians and thus South Park is trash.

I don't understand it either.

The Simpsons has delivered 25 seasons of (on average) 'good' TV. It has some absolute classics, especially seasons 3-8 but even now I'll see episodes from the last few years and they do push the envelope in an 'acceptable' way and I'll really enjoy them.

Now, I love Family Guy... but what The Simpsons has achieved is actually remarkable and historic.

South Park... I watched the World War Zimmerman episode last night and found myself getting really, really uncomfortable. I definitely think SP is more hit and miss than either of those two.

Neither the Simpsons nor Family Guy even touch South Park at it's peak from 1998-2004.  SP was utterly hilarious from start to finish for several seasons.

I disagree with this completely.... but South Park's peaks were amazing. I've always liked SP, but found it much more inconsistent.

Yeah, the best SP episodes are better than anything FG has ever done (by a LONG LONG shot) and, dare I say, the Simpsons too.  Scott Tenerman, the Imagination arc, the Warcraft one.  The fact that they do most of their episodes in 6 days should embarrass the hell out of the Simpsons and FG guys.
