I'm tempted after the near freezing lows we have had here at the end of summer, to describe the Hudson Valley as having a "subarctic" climate, but yes, I know, that would be wrong. I have no idea what kind of climate it is, other than wet and butt cold in the winter. I felt constrained today to wear a short sleeve shirt and a hoodie, rather than just my muscle shirt. Boo!  Sad

I thought this was asking which climate I preferred, so I voted for Mediterranean. Where I actually live is a Humid continental Climate, although it's just barley not considered Semi-Arid. It's also in the rare "Dsb" category, meaning it has dry summers like a Mediterranean climate, which explains why it's almost Semi-Arid.

Humid continental Dfa for me. With 45 votes cast it's interesting that we have 3 E's but no B's yet. I expect we just need some votes from the US west.

I live in South Jersey; we have a humid subtropical climate here.

I wish I lived in Sussex County - it's conservative, rural, AND colder than where I currently live. It's the part of this state that suits me best.

If I was still living in the area I was born in, it would be on the borderline of Desert and Semi-Arid.

Depends on what you consider the dividing line between C and D climate types. If it is set at -3 °C as is usually done in Europe, it's Oceanic (Cfb). If the much more sensible 0 °C dividing line (which is preferred in the US) is used, it's Humid Continental (Dfb).

Has anyone every stopped to consider that there is probably a strong bias toward European climate types under the Koppen system?
Considering that under this system (especially if the dividing line preferred in Europe is used) most of Europe is classified under the same climate type  (Cfb), not really.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the -3 Celsius line. If you use that, I think mine count as Mediterranean (Csb), which is just insane, considering Csb is the climate of places like San Francisco and Huntington Beach.

Warm-summer Mediterranean. And I continue to attest the Bay Area has the best weather in the United States. Tongue

I personally prefer the Hot-summer Mediterranean climate of SoCal, but anything is better than Continental or colder. Tongue
