I'm in an education program that's preparing me to teach kids from kindergarten to grade six. My prof just encouraged me to use this video as a resource in science class.

Obviously I have some biases, but I feel like kids don't have the ability to think critically about a video like this one. On its own, to me, it might as well be a tool for indoctrination. Obviously there are steps that kids and their families can take to reduce their ecological footprints, but do we really need the commentary about Bush's reaction to 9/11 or a comment on wages at Wal-Mart?

What are your thoughts?

Just a few minutes in and I've already had more bad statistics than I can handle.

Comes on far too strong to be appropriate for a classroom, except, as Nix said, a prompt for debate.

Going off message with the diatribe about defense spending lost the video any interest from me.  Seems more political than scientific, and thus only useful if your students' parents agree with the politics.
