Anyone think it's possible that if Hillary runs for president, most wind up backing out or dropping after, let's say first few states, and one candidate sticks around, a la Bernie Sanders, and winds up doing well, 35%-40% in remaining few states as a Teachout-esque protest?

It basically happened with Gore v. Bradley, it is possible. Not sure how likely it is though.

Hillary has far more good will among Democrats than Cuomo ever will. Even in NY Hillary is far more popular. She led Cuomo 64-14 in a hypothetical Democratic primary there. The True Leftist that ran against Hillary in 2006 only got 17% of the vote, and she's even more popular now than she was then.

Everyone who dares oppose Hillary is now a "True Leftist" now?

I guess you have a point, a True True Leftist would never run in a Democratic primary. Wink

However, my point still stands. All empirical data shows Hillary is much stronger and more well liked than Cuomo, both in NY and nationwide.

Cuomo is comparable to Romney as nobody "likes" him as much as he is tolerated by his own party
