Public Opinion Strategies (R) for the Allan Fung (R) campaign:

42% Fung (R)
42% Raimondo (D)

Fung’s internal poll was conducted Sept. 10 through Sept. 11 by Virginia-based Public Opinion Strategies. The landline and cell phone survey included 500 likely voters and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.38%.

The head-to-head section was asked “before any issue questions.”

The poll was conducted before Moderate Party candidate Robert Healey entered the race. There are also two Independent candidates in the race – Leon Kayarian and Kate Fletcher.

This could be close, but I think Raimondo is deeply favored. Though I have seen some Dem frustration over her being the candidate here, so maybe Fung could tap into that Tongue

I think this could indeed be a race to watch.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Rasmussen releases a poll soon that has Fung ahead or shows a tie.

Chafee is quite unpopular as well.

Is Fung liberal or at least fairly moderate?

Raimondo seems like a corporatist.

There was also a GOP internal showing them winning in Maryland. It's pretty obvious you can get whatever result you want, if you pay them enough money.

Would be interesting to see a real poll here though.

Just because she wants to reform social security? Unless you want to triple the future cost of social security, there's no way around some kind of reform. Norway has already reformed its system a few years ago to make it more viable/cost-effective, and it seems most other industrialized countries are thinking about doing the same (or, I guess, have already done it). Either that or raising the retirement age. Or often both. The UK will increase its age of retirement in a few years from now.

Nah, he's more conservative than Ken Block if that tells you anything.

Raimondo is more conservative than some Democrats, but it's Rhode Island. I fear that had they nominated Clay Pell - who would have been a better Governor - he would loose.

Fung is pretty fiscally conservative, but he's also a social moderate (pro-choice, I think he's pro-gay marriage)

Ken Block would be receiving a lot of crossover support if he had the nomination, but he simply was not a good enough of a candidate for Republicans to really have confidence in him.

Isn't Fung the one that admitted he killed a guy in a car crash a few years back and he caused it?

Not surprised that GOP may win RI, not MD again, after time and time again, it has been fools gold for Drms for GOV.
