Florida isn't as hot...or as cold as the rest of the South. At least on the Southern shores.

Really?  I've only been to Jacksonville and Pensacola during Spring break, and that was enough for me.

@ Goldwater, try living in the South (Most of the people are great, don't get me wrong).  I love the weather in Washington, reminds me of living in Britain.

Compared to the rest of the south, Florida has a more stable range from all of the ocean surrounding it. It also doesn't hurt that we get a whole lot of rain in the summer keeping the temperatures lower.

That's one of the most appealing aspects of the West. However, to be fair, it's generally a dry heat and not humid. I have no issues with dry heat; I just cannot stand humidity. The heat+humidity combination is extremely rare in California.

It would depend heavily on financial and life situations. If I had a lot more money, there are lots of places that would suddenly become tolerable (for example, South Carolina if I could have a house on Charleston's Battery, or Maryland if I had a place on the Chesapeake, but otherwise not so much for either state). Or if I didn't need to have a daily job/could work from home, then lots of cute small towns would become viable, as would places like Wyoming and Montana.

So basically if I could telework from anywhere but kept my current asset and income levels, I'd say:
1. DC
2. VT
3. WA
4. OR
4. CA
5. CO
6. ME
7. WY
8. UT
9. MT

But come to think of it, there both nice and bad microsituations in every state.

I'd be up for that, especially if you live in the Peninsula!

Actually, I live in eastern Washington, in the Spokane area to be specific. Probably not quite the weather you were expecting. Tongue
