Salmond will not appear at his count tonight. Bad news for Yes, right? Sad

Could very well be, did Salmond state why he wouldn't be there?

Shetland:

Total: 15,635

Yes: 5,669 (36%)
No: 9,951 (64%)

Turnout: 84.4%

Where are you getting the figures from? I have the Daily Mail's website open, and Shetland's not on there yet:

Here's some good background music for all you fellow No supporters here:

On another note, it's looking like, on current trends, the United Kingdom will remain united! Not calling it quite yet though.

To repeat what others have said: Rabbits will need to be pulled out of hats in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and also, the Yes margins in the likes of Moray and Perth & Kinross will need to be large (should these SNP friendly areas vote Yes). Alex Salmond must be fuming at the moment!

Where are you guys getting your results?  I'm on BBC.

The Daily Mail's website, with the occasional glance at the Guardian's map.

Also, with the result up in Perth & Kinross, I'm calling this for NO. Rule Britannia!

Remember that Tories are uniformly No; Perth & Kinross still has a lot of those.

Good point, although it's also a good SNP area, both in the 2010 Westminster and 2011 Holyrood elections.

I wonder what percent of the voters were actively swayed by promises of devo-max.

And would his have been, in a way, a stronger victory for the No side if the result had been something like 51-49 but with no promise of devo-max?

Promising Devo Max is one thing, but will it be delivered?
