Haha, I really don't think it is possible to top that without trying. Although Mets have good young pitching, Jets may manage to sneak into playoffs, and the Islanders will have a new arena in Brooklyn to call home which should increase revenue.  Hope springs eternal.  The Knicks I have no bright side, especially with Little Jimmy Dolan at the helm.

Conduct this survey in October 1986 and all your teams might be near the top!

And lol Toronto Maple Leafs in last place. Makes so much sense... having to pay a small fortune to watch the worst hockey imaginable.

LOL!  The Rangers are squarely in the bottom half after making the playoffs 8 of 9 years, going to the Final, renovating the building into the best arena in the NHL, and establishing themselves as the 2nd most valuable NHL franchise behind the Leafs?

Horrible List.

EDIT: Okay, we got murdered on affordability, but the tickets always run high on the secondary market, as well.  People sell their upper level tix for $100-120 BECAUSE THEY CAN.  It's an arena in the middle of Manhattan that seats 18,200.  I don't know how they expect the Rangers to make that cheap.  Frankly, as far as fan experience goes, would you rather pay $100 to go to a packed house for a late March Rangers playoff push, or sit at a meaningless Panthers game in an empty arena for $20?  The Panthers should be paying me $20 to go sit there and watch that dreadful team.

He's trying (stress on the trying) to make a joke that college basketball and football are "pros".  They are not.

(that's not to say certain athletes on certain teams don't get many rewards they shouldn't according to the rules, but it's certainly not all or even a majority)

I suppose that since college basketball these days is dominated by largely one-and-done players one could argue that MLB and not NCAA Basketball should be considered the fourth big 4 pro sport, but NCAA Football is certainly more relevant as a pro sport than the NHL in the US, notwithstanding the fact that the owners have been allowed to collude to hold down their player salaries, tho not those of their coaches. Nick Saban at Alabama makes more than all but a few NFL head coaches.

Except it's not, by definition, a "pro" sport.  More relevant, sure, but not pro.

I agree completely that college football is too big and hurts colleges more than it helps, but until the NFL creates a proper minor leagues, we're going to have this non-perfect system.

It's not amateur (save for Division III), and hasn't been since the 19th century.  If it were amateur, players wouldn't be getting a scholarship for playing.  By definition, since it is not amateur it is pro.

I can play that game too.

They don't get paid to play, so they ain't pros.  If they ain't pros, they must be amateurs.

But that's silly semantics.....From wiki

Except that most college football players are paid under the table in the major conferences. There's a reason they call us the $EC. (Or, as I prefer, $€¢)
