Wait, didn't Bernie just vote no on the recent legislation regarding ISIS? What has made the True Leftists turn on him?

I was stunned as well.

Why? The thing about Bernie Sanders is that he's not a socialist in the truest sense of the word. He's basically a reformist social-democrat. For all his faults (from my perspective), its clear that Bernardo does not want to see society as it is presently constituted utterly destroyed, with capitalism overturned and organised religion crushed. Now, some of the true leftists (the genuine Communists amongst them) want exactly that to happen. Social democracy is a threat to their desire for revolution, given that it is highly attractive to many working class people, many of whom would far rather vote for social-democracy than take up arms against the 'parasites'.

Yeah, I know that. But SWE and TNF (who presumably voted HP as well, judging from his posts earlier in the thread) were big supporters of Sanders' potential presidential run as recently as a month or so ago. I'm guessing the ISIS thing was what made them turn on him, but since he voted no, I was confused as to why. Or was it the video of him getting screamed at for his Israel comments?

I doubt all of the HP votes are coming from true leftists...

No, but at least two have. It's the only thing that could explain the swing from him being ~75% FF in my recent poll series to the near even split now. True Leftists and moderate heroes are basically the only swing demographics on Atlas, since we already know how standard Democrats/Republicans/Greens/Libertarians etc. are going to vote on most things.

I love the idea that Bernie is a radical leftist. Do the Democratic hacks on this forum even understand dialectical materialism?

Nobody ever said he was. But you were gung ho for him running for president like a month ago despite this fact...

True Leftists are f[inks]ing insane. I rate them about on the level of teabaggers, and I'm glad that our fine president, with the backing of such FFs as Bernie Sanders, has dedicated his eight years in office to fighting both groups.

Actually, True Leftists would be a lot more useful if they were like teabaggers. Teabaggers succeed by working within the Republican Party and pushing them to the far right, both in terms of actual primaries and based on incumbents' fear of being primaried. On the other hand, True Leftists outright refuse to associate with the Democratic Party in any way, shape, or form, which only marginalizes them. This is a big part of the reason why the Tea Party was (relatively) successful while Occupy Wall Street was a complete dud. The former channeled their energy into realistic political action, the latter just died out without accomplishing a damn thing because of their opposition to working within the established political structure. In addition, continuing with the True Leftist fascination with counterproductivity and cutting off their nose to spite their face, obviously the Democrats aren't going to try to appeal to voters who are just going to write in a dead person the second they deviate from their rigid ideology on anything. Contrast with the Tea Party, which will always vote both in Republican primaries and straight ticket Republican in the general election. Obviously politicians will want to appeal to that group.
