Let's review advantages and disadvantages of each candidates.


Marvin Mandel

Advantages

- Age balance factor: at 96, he's neither as old as Castro (98), not as young as Mixson (92).
- He's Jewish, which means possible support of the powerful Zionist lobby
- Experience: served longer as Governor (10 years) than his two opponents.
- Can appeal to fellow former convicts.

Disadvantages

- He's a convicted felon.
- He's from a noncompetitive state of Maryland.


Wayne Mixson

Advantages

- He's from a crucial swing state of Florida.
- He's a Panhandle farmer, therefore he can't be pinned down as an urban elitist.
- He's younger than his two opponents.

Disadvantages

- Weak gubernatorial experience: three days.
- Endorsed GWB in 2004.


Raul Hector Castro

Advantages

- Appeal to the crucial voting groups of Mexican-Americans.
- As the oldest from the candidates, can appeal to elderly.
- Diplomatic experience.

Disadvantages

- Both Mandel and Mixson could attack him as "too old".
- His name is Raul Castro.
