It is an ironic situation.

Someone regularly slandered as a "fascist" by his political rivals is going to be running in a Presidential election against an opponent who actually does support the actual, real world far-right (for edgy realpolitik reasons or otherwise) and who will be endorsed by the dominant center-left party.
