Let's say Dwight Eisenhower runs as President Truman's running mate in 1948. Dewey picks Douglas MacArthur as his vice presidential candidate. How does this affect the election? Discuss with maps.

A similar alternate timeline I've pondered over somewhat is what if Dwight Eisenhower defeats Truman for the Democratic nomination in 1948?
