He'll be 48 by 2016, is attractive and from a swing state, is the executive of the 29th-biggest county in America, has campaign experience, and has hands-on experience in foreign relations. Even if he loses, could he be a contender for Hillary's vice president?

Yes. Then he can be Hillary's Monica Lewinsky after they get caught in a car together at 3 AM.

Yes. He certainly has more experience than John Kasich does.

If Julian Castro can be floated as a darkhorse VP candidate when he was Mayor of San Antonio, and Cuyahoga County is larger, then Ed FitzGerald is qualified to be Vice President. Plus he's planning a festival in August 2016 - right when many major presidents announce.[/url

Could Clinton-FitzGerald be an actual thing?

Ted Strickland and Sherrod Brown will go nuts if they do this; might as well go Green and support Bernie Sanders.

If this was 60+ years ago and Fitzy wasn't caught somewhere he shouldn't have been, I could see him as a dark horse, compromise candidate in a brokered convention.

Nonono, for maximum success, go for a Wendy Davis/Ed FitzGerald ticket. That'll be sure to give a 50 state sweep!

Wendy Davis/Mark Udall. That way America would go extinct in 100 years.

Hmm.. how about a cabinet of all of the hyped election losers? Along with, let's say Martha Coakley/Alex Sink as the presidential ticket?
