Though I vote for the progressive non-Stalinist option, I bet they'll get a lot of support from partisan right wingers and the True Left who prefer Stalinism to progressivism.

Almost all Communist parties fail to recognize the importance of free will and personal preference when it comes to jobs, careers, and livelihood.

I'll go with the party I'm registered with.

No they won't. Why is it that some liberals here think that blue avatars are so bad when in reality they are incredibly moderate and non-aggressively partisan?

"Stalinism" is an irrelevant concept in 2014.

KKE is Stalinist?  I thought it was the breakaway groups that were Stalinist, and KKE was more like CPUSA?

North Korea's system is a syncretic mix of old-school Stalinism, Japanese militarism, and European fascism.

Is this even a question? The Democrats, despite their many flaws, are much better than any flavour of communist.

The Democratic Party, obviously. Nearly every Communist Party in the world is hardly Communist, but rather some type of weird Stalinist, Leninist, Maoist or other authoritarian party. Give me a Pure Communist party and I'll be on board.

As for the topic itself, neither of the choices in this poll are worthy of support. One of these parties is an elitist, top-down, authoritarian organization hell-bent on maintaining a society in which a small group of people rules society with little input from the vast majority of people, and the other is the KKE.

Democratic Party. However if the circumstances were right the Communists would be tempting.

You are right technically, but was Stalinism as much of an ideology as it was a tactic? I would argue no.

Leninism and its offshoots are a ruthless, authoritarian scourge within the broader socialist movement. I do not much like about two-fifths of the stances Democrats take on political topics but they are still clearly preferable to the KKE.

Doesn't everyone consider their version of Communism to be the pure one?

There is only one correct definition of pure Communism. It's like interpretations of Islam. Just because ISIS has a view of what Islam is doesn't mean it's the correct one.

Why does an ideology have to have any single "correct" version, and who decides which version it is?  It's true though that Communists tend to agree there is only one correct definition of Communism, and that theirs is the correct one.   Saying you believe in "pure Communism" doesn't tell us anything about which version of Communism you believe is the pure one.

Pure Communism is the ideal of a stateless society based on common ownership of the means of production, preferably without a system of paper or metal-based currency.
