With Holder stepping down, I'm curious if anyone here has a preference for the next Attorney General.

A few people on my twitter feed have suggested Deval Patrick, the Governor of Massachusetts.

Offer it to Ted Cruz, just to see what his reaction would be, and then withdraw it.

No matter who the pick is, it better be done quickly.  If the pubs take over, Jesus himself couldn't get confirmed.

That won't happen.  Not after Obama drooled all over her and it made headlines.

Neal Katyal would be my choice, not that he'd be chosen.

Jesus would be one hell of an AG though, wouldn't he?  Isn't intercession his main schtick?

And the whole omniscience thing has to be a serious advantage in this regard.

He would just keep filing charges against himself over and over again.

I think Mary Jo White could be the strongest candidate. She would be confirmed fairly easy, I'd hope. Her record on terrorism is strong and her moderate course at the SEC should not be a problem for Senate Republicans outside of the Tea Party caucus.

All the more reason to do it.

The administration's been promising me stuff for quite a long time, and I haven't seen one patronage post from them. I'm hoping this new opening is the opportunity they need to get it right.

I suggest Kris Kobach. The single strongest supporter of the Civil Rights Act America has ever seen.

Neel Katayl is probably my choice. On a side note, Breyer should be replaced with Akhil Amar.
