Ken Clarke has apparently called UKIP voters disappointed old men. To be honest, I do find that rather ripe coming from a 74 year old man whose political career was dogged by failed leadership bids and an inability to convince his own party to adopt policies that he was favourable towards, and which ended with little more than a miserable whimper.

Thanks, so Labour is being isolated on income tax. What caveats do they have?

The Scottish Tory and LibDem party symbols (a kindergarden style doodle three and a golden bird..) don't make much sense. What was the thinking behind them? (if there was any).

The Tory symbol was an exercise in rebranding by the main party when Cameron became leader. Out went the torch symbol that the party had used since the 80's (I believe) and in came this god-awful abomination. I suppose it was another (failed) attempt to distance the party from its immediate past.

Labour have decided that they want to replace the House of Lords with a Senate elected from the English regions, Wales, Scotland and NI. What a ghastly thought.

At least the Scots have something, rather than celebrating an aged german monarch who's family should of been deposed after WW1

As, this 'argument' raises its head again. So, by your logic, Chuka Umunna is Nigerian, Sajid Javid is Pakistani, Nigel Farage is French and Malcolm Rifkind is in fact Lithuanian?

James Molyneaux, who led the Ulster Unionist Party throughout the 1980's and into the 90's, has died aged 94.
