Republicans should take some pride in their convictions and positive contributions to American politics. Just because I often disagree with them, have somewhat different values, and we sometimes suffer from breakdowns in understanding of each other does not make them any less my comrades. Nor does it in any way mitigate their importance to the representative quality of the democratic process in the States.
