This is an issue I've done quite a bit of reading (and some writing) on, and I believe pretty strongly that prostitution should be legalized, regulated and unionized.

I've been to a strip club once or twice, but other than that I've never paid a sex worker for services, no.

Sex work should be legalized, but pimping should not. Pimps and Johns are disgusting parasites that should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for exploiting women. Women however should be allowed to act as independent sex workers or form sex worker cooperatives.

Do you consider film agents to be parasites that leach off actors? There are plenty of abusive pimps (largely as a consequence of the industry being cartelized and forced underground as a result of prohibition), but I see nothing inherently parasitic about pimps, who perform a useful function in enabling prostitutes to expand their client base.

Pimps exploit the labor of others to enrich themselves. They are parasites because they employ, not because of any specific character flaw.
