First off  did Christie get the NJ 2012 Obama vote?

Second, did Christie voters split the ticket and vote for the dem legislative candidates or did they just vote for Christie and ignored the legislative races. In any case Christie won big but Republicans did not gain seats in the NJ Legislature.  I find that strange

I remember reading something about how the Christie campaign refused to let GOP legislative candidates include Christie on any of their literature or mailings. This apparently frustrated a lot of people in the NJ GOP, who felt that Christie was being selfish and looking out for himself -- not the party.

He must have considering that he got 60% of the vote.

Not necessarily. He won like 200,000 fewer votes than Romney did.

True, I didn't think of that.

I think it is somewhat likely he must have gotten a few.

1. Probably not. According to exit polls, he got 31% of liberals, 61% of moderates, 32% of democrats, and 66% of independents. Its likely they either split even or went about 60% Buono. Lets also remember a lot of D's stayed home.

2. Yes, there were plenty of Christie/D on everything else voters. That's why we saw absolutely no change in the legislature.

New Jersey's state legislative districts were designed by Democrats to be as non-competitive as possible. There's virtually no room for Republicans to gain seats.
