Currently, three:

Mother's Mother
Father's Mother
Mother's Father

My Father's Step-Father is still alive, but I'm only going biologically here.

Zero.  None of them lived long enough to see their 83rd birthday, and in fact both grandmothers died before I was born.

I did have a great grandmother who lived well into her 90s, but she died when I was about 10.

Two. One from each parent, each the opposite gender of the parent (mother's father and father's mother)

Paternal Grandfather: 1914-1998.
Paternal Grandmother: 1925-2013.
Maternal Grandfather: 1939-2008.
Maternal Grandmother: 1942-.

My maternal grandmother and I are extremely close, and her age is finally starting to catch up with her. She had a heart attack scare (turned out not to have been a heart attack) on Christmas Day last year, but otherwise is still going strong. I'm sure she'll be around for another ten years at the very least. She's the reason I became interested in politics to begin with.

Materal grandmother died in 1994 from a horrible form of arthritis.
Materal grandfather died in 1997, hanging himself while cancer stricken.  (never met him)
Paternal grandfather died in 2012 from what seems to be natural causes at age 80.

My paternal grandmother is still living happily in Arizona.

We just lost my maternal grandfather in June at age 89; my maternal grandmother is still going strong.

4/5 - my maternal grandfather died in 2007, but he and my grandmother had been divorced by decades and I never met him. Her second husband is still alive and kicking.

Two (maternal grandma and paternal grandpa)

I never knew my maternal grandpa, who died a few years before I was born. My paternal grandma passed away in 2009, shortly after I joined the forum.

Maternal grandma: 1931-present
Maternal grandpa: 1933-1984

Paternal grandma: 1935-2009
Paternal grandpa: 1934-present

Paternal, Maternal, Step-Paternal, and Step-Maternal are all still around.

I also still have my Paternal Great Grandmother and Maternal Great Grandmother. My Paternal Great Grandfather died in the late 1990s and my Maternal Great Grandfather died in 2013.

Three of mine had died by the time I was born and the last one when I was 2.  My grandparents, however, were all born in the 19th century.
