It won't affect the race, so Ernst.

Ernst won. I was personally worried that she would slip up on some of the questions, particularly about what would happen to Pell grants and student loans if the Education Department is abolished as she would like (she smartly said that those matters could be put under the Treasury Department's control), her views on the minimum wage, and climate change, but she handled everything adequately. Her performance wasn't a game-changer, but it was still good in my opinion.

Ersnt because she can send zingers while still seeming civil and likeable.

Ugh, I couldn't watch this for more than a minute.  Bruce Braley needs like a klonopin-Adderall cocktail before the next debate.  I know Midwestern people are boring, but he's taking it a little too far.

Joni Ernst on the other hand, she reminds me of a TV newswoman.  She's pretty bad on substance, but she can smile and deliver in an upbeat way.  I really hope she doesn't get elected.  Regardless of policy, I don't understand why we need to keep electing these mediocre, weirdos to the Senate.

I agree with most of bedstuy's assessment.

Nobody watches these debates so it doesn't really matter. Braley might've won the battle, but at this moment, Ernst is still winning the war.

Myself included. Cheesy But yeah, none of these Senate debates will really change the trajectory of the races unless there's something major that could be put in a campaign ad. Right now, the lack of the Iowa debate's impact should help Ernst, since it means her current lead over Braley shouldn't be affected.

Braley did a good job responding to Ernst when she challenged his record in Congress, but she clearly won that brief exchange about the neighbors' chickens.

Yeah; I cringed for Braley when she said that. Good line.

If Braley didn't lay some traps for her, then he lost by blowing an opportunity. There's SOOOOO much low-hanging fruit with that nutjob...
