Having a majority in the Senate is only worth so much.  The Republicans aren't going to be able to pass anything because of Obama and the filibuster, so the biggest effect of winning the Senate will be tactical. 

It might actually help the Democrats in some ways, because the 2016 Democratic nominee would be able to run against Congress more easily, and everybody hates Congress.
