If it makes you feel better, a plausible scenario is a 51 R / 49 D Senate. The result of that is basically just gridlock - the Democrats will be able to find at least 2 Republicans to vote with them on anything terribly crazy the House GOP sends over, especially considering how many of them are going to be running for reelection in purple/blue states in 2016.
