Hated it when I was in Middle School.

Started to like it when I was in College (cosinus blabla).
You took trig in middle school? You must have been an exceptionally gifted math student.

Perhaps Europeans call what we call geometry trigonometry? Trig here is the final course before calculus. Pretty much exclusively 11th and 12th graders.

I don't think anyone in middle school took it as a separate class, but don't most people get introduced to the basic concepts of trigonometry in 8th grade algebra?
Depends how you define "basic concepts." I'm pretty sure I knew what a triangle was long before 8th grade.
