College Republicans are somehow even less connected to today's youth than Republican Grandparents

Because it's their mission to rebel against what they consider to be the "status quo" at their colleges. It's really that simple. I just watched a few seconds of the Rick Scott one and vomited in my mouth.

That's too bad.

And they actually had a decent video too that would've made a far better ad.

This one just makes you feel good, even if you totally disagree with their policies.

That's worse in a lot of ways.  Anybody can say, "I'm a member of XYZ party because I like good, fresh ideas and jobs and opportunity and liberty and freedom and stock footage of American flags."  If you don't even go into your specific beliefs, you could just change a few words and that ad could be a young Democrats or young Green Party or young libertarians ad.  It's just an example of empty rhetoric.

But, on top of that, framing the Republican Party as the party of new ideas and young people is just insane.  Regardless of your beliefs, that doesn't square with current reality, moderate Republicans are proposing the new ideas of 1980 and Tea Party-ers are proposing the new ideas of 1880.  Or, just take the definition of conservative, conservatism is not an ideology of new, fresh ideas, that's precisely what it isn't by design.

There's nothing more depressing than being a college/young Republican.

It's fine. They don't get girls, they'll be less likely to reproduce.

Who would say yes to this?

And it's not like he can fall back on personality since he's a criminal. These girls must either have very low self esteem or want to become the next Maureen McDonnell.

Attention Atlas hyperfeminist justice warriors. This is something that is actually extremely offensive and condescending toward women.

Worse than all of that is it sounds like they're just reading straight off a FOX News pamphlet. There's no passion or heart like they actually know what they are saying.

And that's coming from the person whose username implies supporting a group of people who fought tooth and nail unsuccessfully to stop the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act.

I'm not so much offended as I feel bad for the RNC. They try so hard to connect with the youth and fall flat on their face every single time.
