I have the luxury of saying I'm from Andy's hometown, no lie. We focus everything on the show to get tourists here and it's our main business. I think we should focus less on that but our two big festivals (like the one this weekend,) get's a ton of business.

As for the show, I like it. It's strongest when it's in black and white. Andy and Don had great chemistry and the show suffered when he left. I like Jack Burns but he was annoyingly bad as the replacement. The color shows I am not much of a fan of, but I find something in them.

I like Matlock a ton more but the show's fine too.

I always liked it when the hillbillies (Buddy Ebson was one) came to town.

Not my kind of thing, but for what it is I'm sure it's good. There were other shows on around that time that were better - The Addams Family, for one, and maybe something like Get Smart. When I was in middle school there was a local channel, now long gone of course, that re-ran all of those shows, so at some point or another I saw a lot of them. TV Land has this stuff now, but it gets pretty repetitive.
