Wow, so this has been up 18 hours already and no debate?

Okay, I guess I'll contribute:

Given that I don't think the police should even persecute victimless drug crimes in the first place, I don't believe it at all necessary to use Man's Best Friend to help enforce the law in this way.  Additionally, I don't believe the raising of pups for the sole purpose to act as drug sniffers is a very humane at all.

As long as the Mideast has drug laws on the books, I see no reason why the police cannot use dogs to find them.

FWIW from the Regional Justice, this ^^^.

I'll save a debate with Mech as to drug offenses being 'victimless' for another time. Wink

I'll bring the necessary research that shows that drug dogs are definitely not the most effectively use of resources for "sniffing out" drugs over the next couple of days.

In closing for tonight, I would just like the Governor and his allies in the Mideast Reich to consider the emotional and mental trauma that occurs when you raise dogs for the purpose of sniffing out narcotics.

If you find this method of finding drugs inefficient, do you intend to propose an alternative method for finding drugs that you believe will be more effective that you'd like to propose instead?

The alleged 'trauma'  of training dogs to detect drugs is a myth. Dogs don't know whether the scent they're trained to detect is drugs or humans, as with rescue dogs. Nor do dogs inhale one iota of narcotics by smelling them through (e.g.) car doors and/or several layers of plastic wrapping.

My opponents are just fascists who get their hardons from listening to Bloomberg TV stats on how living in a gated community makes one much more successful.  Their debate points are meaningless and should not be considered in a room full of adults.

Also,

This is what your dog looks like on cocaine.  Do you really trust the Mideast Police with your dog?

If not, then please support our efforts to end the barbarism once and for all.

No, I intend on banning them all.  Drugs should be safe, legal, but not exactly rare.

Override impossible without unanimous vote and so the question will not be put before the chamber.

Aye

I am refusing to acknowledge the "Speaker's" authority.  We had a nominating period and Spiral was nominated and declared the speaker unanimously.  If the region's fascist loser wants to be Speaker again he can try again after the next election.

"Fascist loser"

You've failed to pass a single piece of legislation this session.

Hifly, please stop. Spiral was duly elected the Speaker and it is quite clear the other Assemblymen believe you are out of order.

The measure to override the veto has failed, seeing as the vote was not unanimous.
