"Yes, I think he wants to be president," he said. "I think he'd be a great president. He understands what it's like to be president -- for not only the person running or serving, plus family,” he said.

Bush added that his brother is "a very thoughtful man and he's weighing his options."

Family knows best, but I have to disagree with Dubya.  Jeb Bush holds two issues close to his vest and running for president would mean he would have to change his position on them.  I'm not sure he is willing to change his position on these two issues in order to run for president.  I don't think he will run because he will end up opting to keeping his current position.  Not to mention his Latina wife hates campaigning.  Unless I see him announce, I am crossing him off the list of potential 2016 contenders.

Bush vs. Clinton would be an absolutely terrible matchup.

Bush vs. Clinton would be an absolutely terrible matchup.

It would be an interesting one. An absolutely terrible one would be Joe Biden versus either Ted Cruz or Rick Santorum.

It's a ridiculous matchup. I know they are kinda the royal families of America but this would be taking it to the level of parody.

So family doesn't know best? I think W would know Jeb's thinking more than you.

People need to stop with this false equivalence. Jeb would be the THIRD Bush, whereas Hillary would only be the second Clinton.

I realize that, my complaint is the general redundancy of the matchup. Regardless of how many members of either family have run, both families have been the biggest "stars" of their respective parties for decades now, and it's tiring. And for the record, I want Hillary to run, but would prefer someone not named Bush oppose her.

Of course he wants to be president. The question is does he want to run for president.

With today's GOP, it is hard to see him relishing the primary fight. Maybe if he were an anointed frontrunner with limited opposition like his brother had in 2000, but he would be in for a total slog.

Bush being a royal family of America is  especially strange considering neither Bush was well liked when they left office. Reagan's children really slummed it.

Bush was a dynasty long before the two Presidents.

Prescott was hardly an important Senator, though, and nobody else ran for elective office. They were important donors to Republicans causes, but that does not make a political royal family.

Sure, but they were already an established political family and a business dynasty, Prescott's great grand father Obadiah was a prominent abolitionist and vice president of the American Anti-Slavery Society and his grandson (Prescott's dad) Samuel earned serious money.

My point was, that it was already and old and well established elite family with political cloud long before George I and II.

That's undeniably true.

That's fine. Still, they were never more important in that scene than the Rockefellers or the Tafts, which makes them having two Presidents who were both unpopular and possible a third nominee, again, stranger.

Umm, Richard Nixon owed his political career to Prescott Bush.

Any election with Santorum would be an absolutely terrible one.

So apparently George W Bush doesn't want his brother to be president... But seriously, at some point Jeb would have to fight the third term meme, something Hillary may actually embrace. How does one criticize the presidency of their own brother? I know they are different people but like it or not identity politics do matter.

Well, the GOP doesn't. Go paint pictures with your brother Jeb.
