What a horrible idea. The revolutionaries will be stopped soon enough by our armed forces, and peace will be at hand. I sometimes do feel we have an overreaching federal government such as with the feds crazy drug laws, however, they do a lot of good to such as supplying government aid for homeless shelters and the Job Guarantee Act currently being debated before the Senate. 

I strictly oppose this and the Midwest will stay part of the federal government as long as I'm Governor.

What is wrong with succession?  I've always firmly been of the belief that there are two ideal scenarios for the Atlasian government:

1) Regions are entirely and comprehensively abolished.
2) The federal government is entirely and comprehensively abolished.
