by good quality i dont necessarily mean $100 refillable pens, just something like a good uniball or the like.  or do pull out a bic that costs $1 for a dozen?

No, mostly because I hardly ever write anything by hand anymore. These were always my favorite back in the day of high school and college essay exams:

For everyday use I use a blue ink Bic pen that costs $1 for a dozen. They write all the time on everything.

I have a fountain pen that cost $95, and you know what? Half the time it doesn't write. Those gel ink pens? Half the time they don't write.

I had a thing for gel pens around age 10.  particularly the Pilot G2.

Pens are good. I have lots of pens. Including multiple cartridge pens, multiple proper fountain pens and a dip pen (with literally over a hundred nibs).

The last few years I've been using the B2P pens made from recycled plastic and they write better than any other pen I've ever used

I reckon I'll have to go with NO.

I really don't remember the last time I bought a pen.  I suppose that it has been at least 25 years.  Probably more.  I honestly don't think I've ever bought a pen.  Any pen I own was a free pen, and I imagine that any free pen is not what you'd consider a "good quality" pen, so NO.

I do have a couple of Varsity fountain pens, but I've noticed they have a tendency to bleed through paper easily, so I mainly use them for signatures and for writing cards for people.

Pens I swear by:

Sharpies. Even the fine-point permanent markers will do in a pinch.

Pretty much any of Papermate's InkJoy pens.

Generally no, tho I do have several calligraphy pens I use when I'm feeling like being formal.  I last used anything regularly other than a cheap ball point back in high school.  I went thru several years of using them in part because I liked them, but also because writing with a nibbed pen forces you to develop better handwriting.

The former. Some of them are very old (belonged to my great grandparents) but still make a good line.

I am insanely OCD about my pens, some of which I never even use. I like to flip standard Bics or hotel pens in my hands while I think. It's weird.

I also hate the click pens with the buttons. Have you ever been in a room filled with 30 high school seniors pressing them non stop? I don't wish that on my worst enemy. Its hell.

I use the Fisher Space Pen Bullet in chrome. It fits in my pocket with change and keys so I carry it anytime I would those other items in my pockets. It writes in all directions and all weather. It's ideal for someone meeting people in all sorts of locations who needs to take notes. It retails for $22 and the refills are $5 each.

You get to write cards to people? Lucky dog...
