Ugh, my autistic brother watches these terrible Hong Kong action films on these sleazy Chinese websites every Sunday when he is home and I just stopped him from accidently watching some porno. I need to keep an eye on both screens full time it seems.

My other brother is doing well, still in treatment, but he received a diploma (not a GED, a full blown diploma) and is working at least.

Yesterday while cleaning my closet I found a picture book that I wrote when I was four years old. I pinpoint it at four because it was late enough for me to have a linear sense of time (a sentence is written in the past tense) but early enough for me to not have developed the motor skills necessary to write it myself and instead dictated it presumably to a babysitter (the handwriting is neither mine nor my mother's). (If any poster well-versed in child psychology or child development wants to dispute this estimation, please feel free.) In those remote pages we read, and this is the story in its entirety: '[Illegible] is very old and worn out. A tornado wrecked it. There's no more road any more. The food market makes the BEST peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The old car is all broken. The chugga train chugs and choos and blows out its smokestack really hard. The sky vacuum does the same thing.' No, I don't know what 'sky vacuum' was supposed to refer to.

Well, I'm more just being a smart ass. "Might be" and "distantly" are qualifiers that leave things pretty loose... Tongue

I was watching one of those genealogy tv shows and Deval Patrick was on it. Genetically, Patrick is 30% white and so they were trying to find his white ancestors. They found a dude who almost certainly was the father of one of his ancestors, and he shared a last name with some of my ancestors.

Additionally, from the glimpse I caught of that guy's family tree it looked like one of his parents was born in the same small Virginia town which has been home to that side of my family for a while.

Pulled a 3.61 this semester with 18 credits. Hoping to do it again in the winter.

That's about what I ended up with as my final undergrad GPA. Congrats, man.

So after my civil partnership in 2012 and my New York marriage last month, we're now going to do it again for the 'third' time in converting our civil partnership to a marriage in Scotland.

It's finally starting to feel wintery here.  The ground is covered in snow, and if you went outside yesterday, the wind would blow in your face.  It's a quick change.  On Sunday I didn't even need a jacket.

I finished my last exam of my last undergrad semester. I'm done, 4 1/2 years later!

~60 hours smoke free. Hrn... Not sure how this'll turn out.

I'm about an hour smoke free, and I'm incredibly disappointed in myself, because I hadn't smoked in about a month and a half.

A lot of it will be worked out based on what they need and what I want, but the basic gist of it is teaching English and/or assisting profs in the faculty of law over there. The guy said he wanted to offer me something which would also help me improve my Spanish. Anyway, it's super interesting and exciting. It's also a huge relief to finally find something after months of fruitless job search and stressful "i'm up sh**t's creek" moments. Thank you Aubrey Plaza, our Lord and Saviour.

My plane is delayed for over an hour now. And to make things worse, there aren't any Enlightened portals to hack in the entire jet blue terminal. 😒

I turned down sex tonight. A girl I've known for a long time invited me to her work Christmas Party and ended up taking me back to her room, but I am seeing someone so I tried to weasel my way out of it. I have known her for years and my close friend is also friends with her, and I just can't, so I left her room around 3am, like now, after she went to sleep. I just.....women are crazy.

I might have a personality disorder. I'm getting assessed for it in a couple of weeks.

I'm thinking about dropping classes for the spring, packing my bag, and hitchhiking out of here.

I have no classes to drop, but giving my coworkers a big "Adios, bitches" and going to New Zealand keeps sounding more and more compelling.

If you can afford it, I say go for it. You only live once.

My decision is made easier by the fact that I would have to work full time in order to live while taking the full load, which doesn't seem very feasible, or worth it. My main question now is figuring out a destination.

I've been home a day for the holidays. Forgot how stressful it is to live here. I should have known better, but I guess I let myself fall for the idea that this time would be different.

I am very very much looking forward to Christmas and Boxing Day being finished. All of the social activity is leaving me exhausted. And I'm overeating even more than I normally do and drinking even more too much than the too much I typically do. Maybe one goal next year should be to quit drinking every weekend. I quit smoking, surely I can do that. And then lose a few kilos. And then.. profit. I should go to bed.

Perhaps I ought to be ritually castrated? Perhaps it is for the best. A mockery of a man, I am...

Rough finals?

No, quite good, actually.

Well damn, then....
