No you don't. Because then you wouldn't be you. 'Normality' is overrated.

As can be abnormality.

Not that I disagree.

What is normal?

Well, I'm staying another semester in Colombia after a short vacation back home in Ottawa. I'm also probably going to go explore Cartagena for a few days early next week. Colombia es tan chévere.

Just took AP Micro today.  AP Compsci is tomorrow, and that will be my last AP exam ever!

HS is wrapping up nicely.

As I said the other day, I *might* have a job at AFP this summer. I just got a message from our field director saying he wants to meet with me tomorrow. Hopefully this is about a potential job opening for me.

That's my go to response, but you have to admit it is a bit of an empty cliche in practice. No one is truly normal, but not all abnormalities are created equal.

What ends up mattering is acceptance of yourself, I think.

True.  Another thing I noticed is that we always want what we don't have.

When I confided to some of my more socially-graced friends how bad I felt about my social awkwardness/suckiness at practical/spatial things, they said they wished they had my quantitative ability/knowledge about things like politics and religion (and the fact I got into a little-known school in Palo Alto).  So our abnormalities we see as awful are often less recognized by peers than our strengths.

Heading on a road trip with my father to St. Louis for my cousin's wedding, bright and early tomorrow morning, not returning back East until Tuesday.

I'm a little embarrassed to say that being able to add to this might be one of the more exciting aspects of this whole adventure.

Anyway, see y'all on the flip side.

Bought my plane tickets for a short vacation in Cartagena before heading home for a longer vacation back in Canada. Really looking forward to it.

A friend and his other half from America staying with us (who was not injured) was involved in a serious road traffic accident. His other half is here and will be here for as long as it takes but our friend has been unconscious for three days and is critical. Things are a little tough right now.

He passed away today.

Finally graduated from college (though I had enough credits last year).

Very sorry to hear that. Sad

So I saw this sign en route:

I know it's not the same Paul Simon, but still the highlight of the trip out.

The lowlight would probably be all those pro-fracking billboards in Western PA.  Ugh.

Thanks! I'm going to have to do a year (maybe two, to cut costs for my family) at Tallahassee Community College to catch up on some Spanish credits that I failed early on in High School, and than I am going to transfer into FSU.  I will even be living in a dorm on the FSU campus the first year. I'm hoping my friends from the 2012 campaign will help land me an internship, but the two I've contacted have yet to respond, which is worrisome.

So the hotel TV just aired an ad paid for by the Club For Growth attacking Rep. Bill Schuster it seems for his support of the Export-Import Bank.

Said institution was described as "crony capitalist," while at the same time "many conservatives want to get rid of it."

Strange group of dreams last night. Getting tired of this REM bullsh#t. The classic anxiety of never being able to lift my arms during a fight popped up again. That one's really effing old. Newer concerns popped up as well. This needs to stop.

I had a dream that I lived next door to Aubrey Plaza. What does this mean?

I'm going to a Red Sox game in a couple of weeks.

On a similar note, I've kind of been meaning to get into cricket (to watch if not to play) but almost everybody who's into cricket in my area, or any area I've been in really, is South Asian and I'm worried I'd feel like too much of an outsider. That's before you even get into the subject of gender in sporting communities.

Also my university has an 'extreme croquet' (yes this is real) society that I'm considering getting involved in at some point. But, again, gender in sporting communities.
