The lenses are fine, it's the frames that broke. One of the temples came off and it's not easily fixable because the plastic warped.

Ohhhh

They're sisters that were featured in some news stories because they're trying to take a selfie with each one of the Republican candidates.

I just got offered a major internship through a longtime political contact. I go in tomorrow to find out more about it.

I feel like I've been becoming a worse and worse poster over the years and I don't know what to do about it.

Sh!t in my family keeps getting more and more real. I'd appreciate prayers, thoughts, whatever. I'm feeling pretty down in the dumps. Also... I could use a friend, as pathetic as that sounds, so if anyone ever wants to shoot me a message... that'd be nice.

Meeting about my internship was postponed for tomorrow. My friend says it is a done deal, but I still will have to go through the interview.

I have a professor who loves to shout about THE PRICE OF GOLD! At first I got a silent chuckle out of it, but then I realized his initials, momentarily horrified - J.J. (R-PA). Surprise

Yea, 15 minutes west so basically. Even stranger is that if he graduated college at age 22, then he is the same age as J.J. listed in his profile. But there's no way. He doesn't have the personality of an Atlas poster. It can't be.

I arrived to the meeting about my internship. There was no interview. They immediately put me to work. I'm back after a three year absence from politics and for the first time since  November 2012, I truly feel my depression is gone! Smiley

I had a potentially life/career-altering conversation with a professor at my school yesterday.

Care to elaborate, if you don't mind?

I was going to do my master's thesis on representations of Christianity in Japanese media, especially media created by and for non-Christians. Now I think I might instead do a comparative study of the discourse on the body in the second chapter of the Vimalakirti Sutra and the episode of Thomas putting his finger through the Risen Christ's hand in the Gospel of John. Obviously these ideas entail very different subfocuses within the field of comparative theology, and would probably lead me towards different doctoral programs.

Wow.  I knew academics were pretty specialized in their focus, but this seems very intense and narrow.  I'm sure you'll do great at it, though.
