And @R2D2, what kind of school has Atlas forum unblocked?

Technically, the Atlas Forum is an informative site.

As a teacher, if I saw a student on Atlas, I would be a bit upset [about him not paying attention] and a little intrigued/terrified.

I was in journalism at the time. Do-nothing class. I'm an editor. I edited everything that needed to be edited.

Is there some sort of requirement that Atlasians must attend Millersville? Sawx, Snowstalker, and now 20RP12?

Snowstalker doesn't live there. Somehow 20RP12 got roped into applying though.

Not roped into. Ya'll are really good for teachers...that's what I wanna be

Are you coming to the "open house" event that day?  I've agreed to show people around my building from 10:30 till 11:45, then I'll head over to where they're giving away food.

No kidding? Yeah, I'll be there.

What sort of studies interest you?  If you're into the physical sciences, you'll probably go on a tour of Caputo Hall.  Either way, if you're seriously considering MU, then take some time to visit the little booths and tables set up in the Student Memorial Center.  Talk to the faculty members who are there.  I imagine that at some point you'll have to listen to one of the deans drone on for about half an hour or so, but they might do that during the lunch so you can pay attention to your food while they're talking.  Usually it's light fare.  Sandwiches, wraps, chips, fruit, and cookies are commonly served at these things.  I'll probably be somewhere near the food around 12ish.

Millersville is my number one choice. I'm interested in studying English Education, and I visited back in April. The reason I'm going to the open house is because my parents are interested in seeing the campus, but I want to go back mostly because I enjoyed my experience quite a bit the first time around.

Glad you enjoyed your visit.  The English department has some interesting personalities, and from what the students say they span the political spectrum.  You'll be able to engage in conversation with enraged fascists yearning for a simpler time, tree-hugging hipsters in Che Guevara T-shirts and hemp scarves, and everything in between.  The Caputo Hall crowd tends to be a tad more stoic and apolitical than the English department, from what I have observed.

You just missed PrideFest.  Here's a scanned front page of today's student newspaper.

Oh goodie. Can't wait to meet all the fascists Tongue

I'm also interested in writing for the paper, so it's pretty cool to see that they do issues far more frequently than my high school does.

They get pretty edgy sometimes.  For example, when the president made the unpopular decision to have Corbett speak at commencement, they supported a protest.  They also come off as very pro-union and minimum wage hike.  You'd fit right in.  They also have movie reviews, arts, sports (laughingly bad predictions about the MLB championship series), op/ed, and some national & world news.  I don't think it's daily, though.  Maybe twice per week.  I pick one up from time to time.  Not bad reading, as university newspapers go.  By the time you enroll Wolf should be the governor so they won't have quite as much to bitch about.

All glorious. Can't wait.

Surgery was a success. Safe to say my weekend is going to be "disregard everything, acquire ice cream".

I remember when I got my wisdom teeth out. Immediately after while I was still under the anesthetic, the nurse told me to sit down in a separate room and I kept trying to stand up and walk around. It was a hoot, apparently.

I just got home from a 7 hour shift at work. I was originally supposed to work 4.5 hours today, but last night they called me and asked me to cover someone else's shift. It was absolute hell.

One of my friends was killed by a drunk driver last night. I'm not much of a praying man, but keep him in your thoughts and prayers for me.

Dude...I'm so sorry. I'll definitely have him in my thoughts, man. That sucks.

While playing in the garage, my cat killed a large mouse and brought it into the house.

What a thoughtful gift!

Sad

I've made friends with cute girls before that are the dating types, just towards other people. Sucks.

Oh yeah, this is my biggest problem no doubt.

Lief, if I get up early tomorrow, I'll keep an eye out for you. Plug the Atlas Forum, or better yet...the Update.

So one of my friends came out as transgender and I realized I'm a furry and I got a haircut (in that order).

Sounds like a rollercoaster, man.

Guys, I f**ked up. Last night, I told a girl I was a socialist.

Fitzy did nothing wrong.

Thank god you didn't tell my mom you're a socialist, she probably would've performed an exorcism on you.

My GF was hit by a car earlier today.  Not as serious as it could be– we're still waiting on MRI results but probably nothing broken?– but the whole incident was a shocking display of selfishness and inhumanity on the part of the driver and I have been quaking with rage all day.

Will have much more to say about this later.

That sucks man. Hopefully everything's all okay with her and she'll make a speedy recovery. Can't stand rude drivers. Ugh.
