Yes, it's confirmation.  I took her up to Mackinac Island under the pretense that we were going up there for a campaign event for a candidate I've done some work for.  I left her for a bit and called her to have her meet me at Biddle Point (for those familiar with the island, it's the southern tip of the island, over by Goodfellow's), and that's where I asked her.  Then we went up to the Grand Hotel for dinner and walked around the island for a bit.  The rain held off for a couple hours, so I was able to get the proposal in during the dry time, but the weather was pretty dreary the rest of the night.  We came home the next day after stopping to pick up some fudge and taffy.

Overall, it was a fun weekend, and we're both thrilled to be engaged.
