Another proposal for the Pacific to vote on

Reform of the Open Legislature Amendment
Bills, amendments and resolutions shall only be put to a vote after they have obtained the signature of three registered voters from the region within a week of their introduction, or have obtained the signature of the Governor.

I support this.  We've had 21 votes in two weeks.  There needs to be some controls.

This is a bad idea.

This is a return to the old system, a system in which agreed to rid ourselves of.

This gives Pacificans something to vote on. Most of our races are one-man shows anymore.

This lets all forum members particpate in Fantasy politics, not just those elected to office.

Getting rid of this will lead to a decline in particpation in Atlas Fantasy Elections.






Other than my opposition to this fascist peice of legislation, I wish to propose something new, sort of.

I think Pacificans need to vote on a state flag. I think it would be a good idea if we all submitted versions and then voted on which we liked best.

Here is my design for a flag.


The blue represents the Pacific Ocean that has given our region it's name.
The green represents the forests of the North.
The yellow represents the deserts and suns of the South.
The two starts in the blue represent Alaska and Hawaii.
The four in the green represent Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.
The four in the yellow represent California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. (At least I think it's Utah!?)


I propose voting on this the same way we did the official animal. We'll vote on whether or not the Pacific wants a flag, and then vote on which we would prefer. Anybody can submit one.

I personally think this isn't a bad idea. I mean I'm quite tired of having to vote on joke propositions.

Another solution would be you need a certain of  posts in order to propose legislation

Perhaps a limit on how many propositions a member can make in a certain amount of time? Like, no more than 1 per week, or something.

My idea for a Pacific flag-Navy blue represents the Pacific, and our name; light blue that unites all parts of the wide and varied district, and a stylised Golden gate bridge that symbols the road to the bright future of the region. Just a prototype. It looks better small, I think.

I'm not proposing a return to the old state of affairs. The Open Legislature remains up and running. Before, votes could only be held at set times. Oh, and you needed five signatures.

A set time date would be a good idea. But the number of members fluctuates from time to time. We can have as many 15 people vote in one election, but only 7 in another. That is why I disagree with signature requirements.

If some people feel that I went a little crazy proposing about a dozen bills that one time, I probably won't do it again. I also would support a limit to how many proposals could be supported by one person in a certain amount of time. Say, we have an election every month, one person could only propose 3 things.

And what state are you "replacing" anyway? New Mexico should definately join but we also shouldn't give up any current states.
