For the record, I told Dallasfan I could totally see this kind of exchange from BRTD in 1993:

Thread Title: Do you think the breakup of The Police was a horrible event for the future of New Wave?

BRTD: Yes I do.  Before the breakup the band had this badass punkish vibe to them.  Now all we are subject to is Sting putting African instruments into every song he possibly can and singing about mysticism and walking through fields or some sh*t.

Of course this is the usual place where BRTD jumps in and says he would not, as he thinks New Wave was a fake and gay genre and at best "fake punk".
