One of the worst persons in world history, on par with Pol Pot or Hitler. It's absolutely disgusting that trash like him is commemorated, especially since he didn't "discover" anything or do anything of value.

Massively overrated. The learned men of the day knew that the world was around 25,000 miles in circumference, but he decided without any justification. Eric the Red definitely beat him to the New World, and Marco Polo or one of his associates may have as well.

Here's the only thing I think anyone needs to know about him: He was actually removed from his positioning governing Hispaniola because he was seen as too brutal. By the same people who were carrying out the Spanish Inquisition.

Kind of like how I think the only thing anyone needs to know about Croat nationalism is that some officers in the SS refused to cooperate with the Ustashe because they saw them as too savage and brutal.

FF in protest to the fact that BRTD always complains about Columbus Day every year.

That doesn't apply to people who commit mass genocide.

Christopher Columbus is one of the most despicable human beings that has ever existed. Evil, wicked man.

Loveable rogue (although I prefer Cortes).

Also, of course, I'd like to point out that whilst, of course, Columbus wasn't the first person to 'discover' the Americas, he was the first to establish permanent, lasting contact between the new and the old worlds, thus, in that respect, he was a truly significant figure.

Massive idiot who miscalculated the size of the earth, would have starved to death or been thrown overboard had it not been for lucking into America, misruled Hispaniola horrifically and was so blockheaded and stubborn he refused to ever acknowledge that he had found a new continent and not the Indies.

Oh yeah and a complete monster to boot.

Complete Monsters don't exist in real life, it's the new rules. I know, I hate it too.

I don't know. I feel fine. My heart's fine, my bowels are fine, my brain's half-fine, my eyesight's fine. Its a beautiful evening outside and I feel rather relaxed and generally content with life. Nothing's wrong.
