Let's say for a moment PA Governor Tom Corbett is the Republican nominee for president, which Democrat could be beat?

John Edwards and William Jefferson. Maybe Blago, but even that's a stretch.

I would say Cuomo, but I'd probably vote Cuomo in this scenario, depending how far Left he goes in the primary.

I haven't read a lot on this particular reelection bid, so I don't know why he's so uniquely unpopular (in comparison to Brownback who comes with clear reasons.)

Technically, he did well in his first bid for Governor, so he may be the type of guy who is strong as a candidate and flounders in office. But it'll be tough to defend a resounding reelection loss.

So he'll obviously lose to any serious Democrat. He might be competitive against someone more easily caricatured than Joe Biden. Maybe Bernie Sanders or Nancy Pelosi.

Too conservative for the liberals and the moderates, too moderate for the conservatives. Basically the Blanche Lincoln Problem. Add in being generally ineffectual and not being able to work well with even his own party in the legislature. The Sandusky stuff also hung over his head like a dark cloud for quite a while. Education spending is also a major factor, but that's not really unique to Corbett.
