This is an amendment. So, If this will be approved by the Althing, the people of the Midwest will vote on this.

The current law as it stands.

Also, Cris I don't think this counts as an Amendment. It is simply changing the current legislation, not the constitution, but I could be wrong. Personally I am leaning to the current law, but I am willing to listen to the argument for the bill.

This is my same doubt.

Basically it would be changing the law, but keeping the name if that makes sense. I guess I could just replace the name as New Midwest Abortion Act.

Regarding the old bill, I'm really shocked the MW had (or should I say has) that kind of radically conservative law in place. Banning abortion after 14 weeks and giving those kind of harsh penalties is even worse than that one Texas law passed last year.

Anyways, I support this, albeit barely. I do consider myself pro-choice and support a woman's right to choose, but after the third trimester, it's absolutely inhumane what they do. Preferably, I would like a small increase in the fines and the rape and incest exceptions I think should only stay legal through the second trimester, but I'll sign this bill either way.

I support this change enthusiastically. I can't believe our abortion laws were so strict.

Bill is pretty self explanatory. Basically loosens up our very strict abortion laws.

I do support this bill, though, after the second trimester, it would be wise to eliminate abortion at all; even in the case of rape or incest.

Why would you change your username to (seemingly) impersonate another user?

Because I felt like it.
