Atlanta, primarily for access to better outdoor recreation. It's a choice between forested mountains and cornfields. I know which I prefer.

I can't believe Des Moines is winning. There is an irrational love for the cold, flat midwest around these parts. Atlanta for me in a heartbeat.

Des Moines. Though Iowa seems to be a right-wing hell, though not as bad as Georgia is, at least I could get married there.

Huh The Upper Mississippi is one of the most liberal areas of the country. As long as you aren't in Sioux County...

Des Moines. Though Iowa seems to be a right-wing hell,

Iowa is one of only a handful of states where a majority of whites voted for Obama both times.  Romney edged Obama among whites even in California.

I think a lot of people are confusing the metro area and the city. The city of Atlanta has a lot of great neighborhoods and amenities. It's the sprawlburbs around it that give the place a bad name.

Des Moines is cold, flat, monochromatic and filled with some of the most boring people in the world.

Atlanta is warm, hilly, diverse and barring choices like NYC, Los Angeles, London, etc, a world-class city for entertainment, nightlife, cuisine and just about everything else. Oh, and you can easily and cheaply get to anywhere else in the world direct from Atlanta, too.

This forum is silly.
