This is really tough for me, considering they're both pretty awful. But honestly, I think I'd rather go with Bush from 2001-2009 instead of Thatcher from 1979-1990, mostly because Bush's leadership lasted three less years.

Well the obvious cheat answer is that I wouldn't want to live in the 80's ...

Thatcher was the best leader of the last 100 years, Bush ranks towards the absolute bottom.

I prefer the 2000's US to the 1980's UK, so Bush.

Bush was the somewhat more pragmatic of the two, as well as being more personally likeable.

Hold my nose and say Bush. Less time in office, less irreparable damage.

Thatcher was the best leader of the last 100 years, Bush ranks towards the absolute bottom.

Yep. Massive inflation, high unemployment, bungling that caused the Falklands War in the first place, the poll tax riots... She should have thanked her lucky stars that she had to go against Michael Foot and Neil Kinnock and that they won the Falklands War. If she didn't have the Falklands victory, the Alliance may have broken through or Labour could have won with Denis Healey if Healey had been more forthcoming with the Labour right and gotten himself elected over Foot.

Thatcher was terrible. I'd actually go with Bush, because at least Bush seems like an amiable guy. I may hate his politics, but at least I wouldn't want to punch him.

No chance. Benn and co wouldn't have taken a Healey leadership victory lying down.

Margaret Thatcher, not her biggest fan, but Bush is an embarrassment to America.

Given that I lived through Bush once, I think I could do it again.

Bush was just bad, but Thatcher was a total disaster. The answer is obvious.

It's hard decide which cult of personality is more bizarre between the one surrounding Thatcher or Reagan's.

Thatcher vs. Reagan seems like the more appropriate comparison.

Thatcher was definitely the better leader of the two, but I would definitely rather live in the 2000s than the 1980s, so Bush (American) it is.

Tough call. I've already lived in the era of Bush so I guess I'd have to go with Thatcher.
