Out of all potential running mates that Bill Clinton could have picked in 1992, which one would've maximized the Democrats' chances of holding onto the White House a third time in 2000?  Some of the names being mentioned back then were:

Bill Bradley
Lee Hamilton
Tom Harkin
Bob Kerrey
John Kerry
George Mitchell
Jay Rockefeller
Paul Tsongas (died of cancer in 1997, which would have required Clinton to pick a replacement)
Doug Wilder
Harris Wofford

But don't be bound by that list.  Feel free to name anyone you think might qualify as a remotely plausible running mate for Clinton in '92.

The 2000 Map+ West Virginia would result in a Democratic win. I'd imagine he'd be strong in Florida, too.

Gore was a great running mate. The problem was, after 8 years he was no longer associated with his home state, as would be true with anyone else on your list.
