It's a tough choice. Bush, by far, was the least competent. Nearly all of his decisions were bungled, as were both his wars; and he had an unerring ability to appoint the worst person for a job and delegate power away to hyper-ambitious underlings and morons.

Reagan has the most pernicious influence. His hands-off style of governing led to National Security agencies running even further amok. Reaganomics was a disaster, a fervent belief that the self-mutilation of government is desirable. Deficits were a ballooning disaster (Fiscal conservatism? pfff) ; while the government willingly crippled its ability to deal with issues like the AIDS epidemic. I do think Star Wars was a genius bit of politicking though, I'll give him that - he does share at least some of the credit for ending the Cold War.

Nixon is probably the worst human being ever to hold the presidency. I know that sounds like an overstatement given the various racist loons that have filled the office, but Nixon was a depraved nut who needed therapy, not unlimited power. He didn't care about his death toll - he just wanted power. Nothing wrong with a bit of power-loving of course, but undermining Peace Talks to ensure his election is nigh on treasonous. LBJ was a complete prick, but would have never stooped that low. Nixon was the liar who claimed he would end Vietnamese operations, before expanding the war with attacks on Cambodia and Laos. His paranoia is legendary; really I'm surprised a Watergate style scandal didn't break out sooner under his Presidency.

In conclusion, I hate all three. I'll go for Bush II, because his Presidency was no doubt the least successful.

While technically when all's said and done Dubya is the worst, as a President I voted for Reagan anyway.

He was a disaster when he was my state's Governor, it's his fault so many are on the streets there. He pretty much went Ferguson police on the students of my town back in the 60's, and then there's his stances on housing.

Then there's his BS about "Trees pollute" and getting rid of the solar panels Carter installed

And that's the petty stuff.

He was equally guilty of Nixonian crimes, he sabotaged to the peace talks with Iran just so Carter would lose that and come to think of it, and there's the "debate-gate" thing.  And he also used the same Southern Strategy to get ahead and added Evangelical wingnuttery into it.

He spent the country into the ground on all sorts of military stuff while raising taxes on the actual working people, there was the ATC incident, there was supporting Apartheid in South Africa, escalating the Cold War when it was already in decline to the point of pretty much being the root cause of 9/11 by training those "Freedom Fighters"

And to stop things here, the Iran-Contra scandal.

And his administration was easily the most corrupt.

He had a lot of good policies I'll begrudgingly admit, and he was effective at getting stuff done, and there were some good reforms when he was in stopped-clock mode. But otherwise he was just as criminal as Nixon, except with good publicity and excellent blaming skills.

And then there's the whole "BIGGUMINT IS EVULZ" bullsh**t he started, making him inadvertently responsible for the polzarization existing today. The New Deal that kept this country stable is dead because of him

Dubya may have been worse in policies, but he didn't spearhead a regressive step backwards, he wasn't racist, he didn't stand in the way of improving mental health (another thing axed just to spite Carter), and ultimately he was ineffective.

And as for Nixon, he tried to get Universal Healthcare, started the EPA, supported busing, and his foreign policy was actually decent. It's incredibly sad that this has to be said, but the crook is the BEST President here. Everyone here can agree with what was screwed up about him,but he got what was coming.

But Reagan pretty much cheated karma the whole way through,he's an icon when he should be scorned. He was corrupt and gutless, but he looked good on camera and knew a good joke, so he slinked away.

So yeah, I voted for him ,even if objectively Bush is worse.

This one's easy, Bush. I admire Reagan the most and Nixon's only real big sin was Watergate.

The people of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia might disagree with that, as would probably the vast majority of draft-age men in this country not able to get a deferment.
