The other issue here is pay. Bushie is obviously not PTO eligible yet so every day he misses, excused or not is basically docked pay. Even if the job gives opportunities to make up the lost hours we all know if Bushie will actually do so...

Yes, Bushie doesn't care about missing work because he doesn't actually have any bills to pay. This isn't really a job. It's daycare for Mama and Papa.

He might as well just work for free.

He only searches for CAD jobs because he says it pays $10/hr and he can't live on minimum wage. BUT because he can't do demanding work like CAD when he has his headaches, he has to miss time constantly and does not get paid for that time off.  2.5 out of 9 days missed already. Only 52 of 72 possible hours worked. That will put him at $520 pre tax earnings in 72 hours of this job. That's $7.22 an hour effectively. $.03/hr under the minimum wage which he says he cannot afford.

Factor that had he taken a job at a Subway nearby his Tulsa apartment instead, where the job was easy enough where he could work with his headaches because no thinking is involved, he'd not only be making more money effectively (7.25 > 7.22) but he'd have more money effectively as he'd be using his Tulsa apartment AND he'd be saving a ton more money on gas.

I don't expect Bushie to pay attention to this post, but I thought it would be interesting for the rest of the forum to know.

Say what you will about missing work; telling J-Mann, someone who has literally called your former boss to vouch for you and has actually tried to help instead of simply making fun of you for the past half-decade, to basically F off is the more ludicrous and childish behavior here.

Wow, makes his behavior even worse.

Bushie's reaction to his boss reminds me of this classic Simpsons joke: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lAEO07SISU

Like after a light rain? Treacherous!!

Grow up and use the tools available to you (ie: http://www.oktraffic.org) to check road viability on your own from now on, instead of wasting your time on here to giddily and proudly report another day of sitting on your ass. I have no doubt that if no one berated you for your laziness and total lack of responsibility, you'd be napping right now.

Be that as it may, you made a good decision to actually go in. That's thinking like an adult.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if it turned out Bushie drives a four wheel drive Hummer or something?

I drive a 2006 Nissan Sentra.

Turns out I wasn't the only one who missed time today.  My lead drafter who lives farther than I do missed the entire day because of the roads.  Still, the roads were good enough for me so I'm glad I got 5 hours in.  My boss did look pleasantly surprised when I popped into his office just after noon.

Wouldn't be surprised if what Bushie saw as "pleasantly surprised" was actually...

Not surprised by any of this. It is all so predictable by now.

It is completely paid off.

Most likely a lovely enchilada casserole, which he unfortunately won't be able to eat because of a Braum's trip to reward himself for his half day of work.

She just fried up some hamburger patties.  I had Braum's at lunch, but came home and she was about finished with the hamburger patties.

Of course he was. And if it weren't for people calling him on his BS, he'd have had us believe that Oklahoma City was like Hoth today.

Unfortunately, due to his long day at work, Bushie was unable to help his 103-year-old grandmother fix him his dinner. He plans to consider helping her make him his dinner at a later date.
