I haven't been following that closely.  this must be Louisiana politics at its best.

 have there been any recent polls?  has Edwards received any support from the national Democrats that we know about?

Not the national Democrats, but the state Democrats formally endorsed him, which they took a lot of heat over.

He'll win the primary but the runoff is another story.

I'd have to imagine if Landrieu has a shot so does Edwards. Most likely both of them will lose, of course, but I'm not willing to write him off.
