Former Northeast Governor Winfield addresses an overflow crowd at Yankee Stadiuim in New York City.

My fellow Northeasterners, thank you so much for your overwhelming welcome.  I am deeply grateful for your tremendous outpouring of support.

The current executive and legislative leadership in our region have turned our great Northeast Region into a laughing stock throughout Atlasia.

The Northeast Assembly has turned the Northeast into a region where incest is now legal.  My first act as Governor will be to repeal this atrocity.

The Northeast Assembly has turned a whole generation of sixteen year olds into a generation of drug addicts and pot heads.  This will be repealed.  

The Northeast Assembly has legalized marriage between, let us say, one dirty old man and let us say ten or twelve young ladies, for the sole purpose of raping young women, under the guise that the Northeast Assembly has legalized it, so it's OK.  What's next for the Northeast, a legal marriage between a man and a dog?  This will be repealed.

The Northeast Assembly has made it now legal for some no good husband to blatantly cheat on his wife, while she sits home with the kids, with no financial support  to pay the rent or buy food  for her and the kids, from the reprobate husband who says, it's OK, it's legal.  This will be repealed.

The Northeast Assembly has now turned a whole generation of sixteen year olds into alcoholics.  This will be repealed.

The Northeast Assembly has caused numerous deaths and thousands of deaths in the future by allowing drivers in the Northeast to drive while distracted.  This will be repealed.

The Northeast Assembly has addicted a whole generation of sixteen year olds to nicotine and tobacco, causing lung cancer and an early death to thousands of people in the Northeast.  This will be repealed.

The Northeast Assembly has made it legal for a couple of perverts to have sexual relations in a car while parked in a driveway or a shopping center parking lot where it will be witnessed by hundreds of people, including young children.  This will be repealed.

The Northeast Assembly will be responsible for the deaths of thousands of people in the Northeast by allowing open alcoholic beverages in automobiles.  If they are really naive enough to actually believe that the driver will not be drinking when there are open alcoholic beverages in the automobile then they are more clueless than I thought they were.  This will be repealed.

The Northeast Assembly has made it legal for fourteen year olds to possess pornography, thus instilling in young minds ideas and behavior for committing violence against, mainly, women.  This will be repealed.

The Northeast Assembly has legalized e-cigarettes thus causing an unknown number of health problems for people who may be allergic to this substance.  This will be repealed.

The Northeast is not strong.  It is wallowing in a cesspool of its' own making, or I should say, by the making of the misguided individuals who currently occupy the Northeast Assembly and the Governor's office.        

My fellow Northeasterners, I stand before you today as one who has been through the political wars and as one tested in political leadership.  I have led this region in the past as Governor with courage and conviction, and with decency, and I again come before you to send me to the Governor's office, to help me clean up our great region, and put us back on the path to respectability and prosperity.

The Northeast is the laughing stock of Atlasia.  Help me, help me once again my fellow Northeasterners, to restore credibility and courage to our region.

It would appear that candidate Winfield has whipped the crowd up to an absolute frenzy with his emotional and powerful speech calling for dramatic change.

Winfield waves to the massive crowd as they are on their feet, clapping, cheering, stomping their feet, chanting Winfield! Winfield! Winfield!

Nix, Nix, poor deluded Nix.

You seem to lack a basic understanding of public policy.

Therefore, allow me to explain something to you, in words that you can understand.

You see, Wallace was advocating keeping African Americans at the back of the bus.

Anyone who knows anything about me knows that I am one of the strongest advocates on this forum for racial equality and justice.

And you, Mr. Nix, ought to be ashamed of yourself for drawing a Wallace comparison with me, of all people.  I expected better from you than that, than taking a cheap shot like that.

Anyway, let me explain things to you.  

As I said, Wallace was advocating keeping African Americans at the back of the bus.

What I am advocating, Mr. Nix, is keeping fathers from raping their daughters and using the excuse that it is OK because the Northeast Assembly has made incest legal.

I would have expected that you, Mr. Nix, could understand that.

But perhaps I was wrong in that assumption.

E-cigarettes were never actually illegalized in the Northeast, and I truly believe that the End to Vapeid Stupidity Act is a great benefit. E-cigs can be a helpful tool to break the addiction to actual cigarettes and are less harmful to the body than your conventional cigarette. I see no reason to ban them, and I support a state law establishing the right to vape.

Thank you Sawx for bringing to the fore an actual issue, rather than the blatant deception about me brought forth by Nix and his minions.

While there is no doubt a myriad of new studies that will be brought forward in the e-cigarette issue, there have already been released several studies detailing the harmful effects of their use, both to those using them directly, and those who come in second hand contact with this substance.

There is simply too much scientific evidence that has come out proving e-cigarettes are not as safe as some do or would like to believe.

For that reason, I believe it is bad policy to have no control over the use of e-cigarettes.  I believe that e-cigarettes should be banned in any public place, school, work place, etc.  

Smoke them on your back deck if you wish, for example, but no  one should be allowed to smoke them where other members of the public are present at any time, that is in any public place.

My fellow Northeasterners, my fellow Atlasians, thank you so much for that magnificent welcome here tonight.

I am truly humbled and gratified.

It is an honor and a privilege for me to be here in the great city of Boston and at Fenway Park, home of that great baseball team, the Boston Red Sox.

As you are no doubt aware by now, this campaign has taken an extremely negative and nasty turn, thanks to those who do not want you to know the truth.

The pro incest lobby has been spending tens of millions of dollars in viscous attack ads against me.  They have hired former President Nix to be their spokesman.  Imagine, ladies and gentlemen, a former President of this great nation, stooping to such depths of slander, lies, and out and out deceit.  (cries of shame on Nix, shame on Nix, from the audience)

Nix has at his side his favorite yes men and toadies, Kemp, Griffin, Flo.  Nix is the only person I know who has three faithful and obedient lap dogs sitting on his lap all at the same time.  (laughter from the audience)

When Nix says to his lap dogs, jump through the hoop, his lap dogs say which one, the big one or the small one?  (laughter from the audience)  When Nix says to his lap dogs, fetch the stick, his lap dogs say the long one or the short one?  (laughter from the audience)

But my friends (can hardly control his own laughter), my friends, best of all, when the pro incest lobby says to Nix, say something nasty and untrue about Winfield, Nix says, but I can't think of anything nasty about Winfield, the pro incest lobby says, well for crying out loud man, what do you think we're paying you for, make something up.  (audience by this time is doubling over in laughter)

But my message for you here in this arena tonight, and my message to all Northeasterners, is one of hope, one of optimism for the future, one of better days ahead.

Together we can do this.  But we must change the course this region has been set on by the outgoing executive and legislators.  We must put an end to ridiculous laws that have inundated this region, laws endangering lives and laws endangering our very future.

Join me, and together we can take back our region, and make it a region of which we can all be proud.

I'm sorry, Winfield, I really am. I was ready to listen to your arguments, but the fact you posted such a graphic, disturbing imagery in this thread

makes it simply unreadible.

Well, it would have been nice to have the endorsement of The Pope, but that's the way it goes.

However, I would rather think of the picture as  that of a distinguished leader passionately presenting his case for election to the attentive and awe inspired public.

My fellow Northeasterners, my fellow Vermonters, yes, I say my fellow Vermonters, because I am one with you.

We have seen what conflict and war can bring upon a city, a state, a region, and indeed, an entire nation.  As Governor, I can assure all the people in all the areas of our region who have been affected by this rebellion, that this injustice to your lives SHALL NOT STAND!

As Governor, I will never, NEVER, negotiate away your freedom with any band of malcontents, dissidents, secessionists, traitors, and criminals.  With me as Governor, any criminals, now or in the future, will feel the full weight of the law.

Vermont and all the areas affected by this rebellion will be rebuilt.  I can assure all of you that all funds necessary will be put into the total reconstruction of all the affected areas.

I will send whatever aid is necessary to these areas.

I will also send whatever force is necessary to maintain peace in these areas.

I can assure all of you, under my administration, that brighter days lie ahead.

My fellow Northeasterners

I am speaking to you from my office on this the eve of the election.

During this long and grueling campaign, I have had the privilege of visiting all parts of this great region and in meeting thousands of you.

Those who wish to see the retention of the status quo, where the Northeast has become the laughing stock of Atlasia, have shamelessly participated in viscous attack ads and a hate campaign spreading obscene lies about me.  You know who they are from previous speeches I have given.  They have succumbed to a big pay off from the pro incest lobby who have spent tens of millions of dollars on this campaign of lies and hate.

If they wish to wallow in this swamp, that is up to them.

As for me, I prefer to offer the Northeast a positive outlook, a bright future, and a new hope for better times to come, a region of which we can all be proud.  

As I was leaving a campaign rally attended by thousands in Pittsburgh, I will always remember a young child, I would say about 9 or 10 years old, holding up a sign right where I was passing on my way out of the arena, that said "WINFIELD, BRING US TOGETHER AGAIN".

I knelt down, shook hands with the child, and said, that is exactly what I intend to do.  Thank you for coming here today, and thank you for emphasizing that most important of responsibilities a Governor has.

My friends, that is exactly what I intend to do as Governor.

Well, I don't know exactly how to interpret your meaning when you say

I believe I have the capability of running a competitive campaign in any election.

But I'm sure you mean that in a good way.  

When you consider I only really entered the campaign as a write in candidate on Oct 12 and only became a candidate to appear on the ballot on Oct 19, and when you consider that I was the target of a very viscous, lying, and hateful attack ad campaign, and when you consider I am an Independent and that party followers generally  will vote for their party candidate, I think  I did quite well.

Best wishes to you for the future as you become our next Governor.
